Yet I did find myself dissatisfied. For the past year and a half we have been struggling with a desire to follow Christ in a new direction, unseen and unknown. God has placed into our hearts an insatiable desire for others, particularly families. Having been on this journey now for 16 years and with 4 kids, we know the rigors of marriage and parenting. It's not for sissies! We are also acquainted with the what-have-we-done stares of new parents, the working-many-jobs-getting-paid-for-none moms, the if-I-have-to-hear-one-more-whiny-voice dads, and the return-trip-to-the-store-because-I-forgot-the-toilet-paper facing young families today. And God has set our hearts for these!
After much prayer and questioning and ignoring and surrendering, God has birthed a new church in our hearts. Family Life Church at Cypress is on its way. We are in the process of securing a location, filing all the paperwork and working out the numerous details. (The Articles of Incorporation are complete and Bylaws are written!) And we are looking for those whose hearts are compelled by the Spirit of God to come and be a part.
We are currently planning a dinner on Sunday evening, April 21, at 5pm for anyone interested in finding out more about what God has in store for these exciting times. We will share the vision, update everyone on our current status, share our needs, unfold our potential timeline, and share what God has placed in our hearts!
God has given us a great love for his church. By His grace, we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and we will love our neighbor as ourself!
Here We Go!
Garrett and I are and will continue to pray for this exciting journey! Looking forward to hearing more details about the upcoming dinner.
